Assistant Editing

Introduction of Avid:  Avid is as one of the three major editing programs used today.  The other two are Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere. Avid media composer is the one most commonly used by professionals.  About 85 percent of what you see on film and television is done in Avid.  If you are really serious about perusing editing as a career I would get familiar with all three, but become an expert at least one of them, and you will be able to pick up the others pretty quickly. All the programs have the same basic functions. The rules in each are a little different once you figure that out you will be good to go.  Everything learned in the Necessary Editing Workshop will be learned through using provided footage. Students will follow along with the instructor completing each tasks in conjunction with the instructor.
